If you’ve ever found yourself lost on our 3rd floor, in a room full of bugs, and wondered, “How on earth did these all get here…” it’s your lucky day! George Diehl has been collecting and preserving insects for over six decades, with the bulk of his collection featured in the Insectorium at City Museum. He will be on-site to provide a pinning demo on May 10 from 12pm-3pm, featuring some of the June Bugs and Cicadas that will soon be swarming across Missouri.

If you’re feeling inspired, you can buy your very own Bug Collecting Kit from Artifacts gift shop on the 3rd floor. George has pulled pieces from his vast collection of test tubes and insect pins to provide kids and adults with a way to get outside and keep exploring!
