Opening March 13, families can experience the charm, artistry, and joy that have delighted generations. Let’s go spin!

A Carousel with a Story to Tell

This 20-foot diameter carousel once journeyed from state-to-state, bringing smiles to families in Ohio, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Florida, North Caroliina, and South Carolina. When on tour, it took six hours to set up and four hours to carefully take down – a true labor of love.
Hand-Carved Artistry

Each animal on this carousel is a work of art! The original carvings were created by renowned artists including: Gustave Bayol, Friedrich Heyn, Henri Devos, M.C. Illions. These designs are known for expressive features and beautifully detailed craftsmanship.
Restored with Passion

In 1988, this carousel was restored by sculptor Carlos Sardina and his wife Judy as a historical art preservation project. Carlos also added special features you’ll notice while you ride: a charming white picket fence, small sculpted musicians around the center, and detailed finishing touches that make this carousel uniquely his. The Sardinas toured their carousels from the late 1980s through the early 2010s, even renting one for a production at The Muny, sharing joy across the country.
